A fan-media researcher who believes in otaku evolution (the theory that otaku evolve mentally, physically, and technically). Graduated from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Ewha Womans University, and received both a master's and a doctoral degree from the Graduate School of Communication at Yonsei University, specializing in Visual Communication. In 2015, received the Academic Award from the Korean Women's Communication Association for the doctoral dissertation "A Life of Dwelling in a Liquid World: The Meaning of Home and the Process of Place-Making among Women in Their Twenties and Thirties as Young Migrants," and in 2016, received the Award of Excellence at the Korea Broadcasting Critics Awards from the Korea Broadcasting Writers Association for "The Public's Fantasy of Nonhuman Characters."
