Game researcher. Currently a professor at Ritsumeikan University. Reached this position after serving as a research assistant at the International University of Japan's GLOCOM and as a specially appointed associate professor at Kansai University, among other roles. Centering on the question "What is a game?", also engages in projects related to game archiving and to solving social problems through the application of games.

A graduate student who has stepped into game studies. Currently taking courses at the Graduate School of Core Ethics and Frontier Sciences at Ritsumeikan University in Japan. Lately, exploring the varied game experiences mediated by games, as well as subculture within Japan. Writing is still hard.
