Keenly interested in understanding the relationship between technology and humans (culture) through games and esports. Advocates for global, interdisciplinary, and open-science approaches to game science research. A founding member of DiGRA Korea, and currently active as an Esports Research Network Board Member, a board member of the Korean Esports Studies Association, and a member of the APRU Games and Esports Research Working Group. Worked for a time at NCSOFT and Riot Games Korea. Publications include a co-authored book chapter (2021), "Post-Digital Cultural Studies through an Analysis of the Technicity of Esports" (2022, doctoral dissertation), and "The Conceptual Blending of the Everyday and the Game World in the Gaming Experience" (2018, paper).
