After earning a PhD in television drama studies, has spent more than twenty years teaching, researching, and writing on media-cultural phenomena. The subjects have been varied—games, webtoons, the Korean Wave, variety programs—but all share a common thread: the exploration of "activities that many people enjoy." A few years ago came a small book titled A Study of Digital Game Culture, and these days runs a research organization called the Yonsei Game & Esports Research Center (YEGER), pursuing a range of studies on game culture together with younger researchers.
